Emergency Cocktails
A brief description of our September 3 AI and Cocktails event
With gift money from GoogleAI, we are hosting the event series “AI and Cocktails” to cultivate community among AI researchers and human-centered design researchers.
Our first meeting this year convened 15 people for an emergency session to share the radical advances in AI technology over the summer of 2022. With Professor PJ Stappers, we shared how to write scientific papers with GPT3–and the implications for teaching writing. Then, we shared progress with DALLE, Stable Diffusion and other generative image models.
We then developed a rapid plan for a larger design conference the following week to teach other designers and AI researchers how to use these systems effectively in design.
